Overview
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patient\'s referral and appointment bookings. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide support to the Senior Sister or Medical Day Unit Nurse-In-Charge in proactive management and screening of incoming referrals, booking appointments, sourcing clinical documentation and diagnostic results from internal and external care providers, communicating with members of the multi-disciplinary team and patients, and ensuring pathways are managed smoothly. The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and referrer satisfaction by being accessible, customer focused and a knowledgeable point of contact. This is a key role in ensuring that all users of the ward are provided with a fast, efficient and effective service, in accordance with trust and ward policy.
Main duties
* The post holder will be responsible for liaising directly with patients and the referring team. Good IT skills and an excellent telephone manner are vital to this role.
* The post holder will be required to communicate in a professional manner with a range of professionals within the Medical Day Unit team.
