Joinery Production Manager – Bespoke Restaurant & Bar Projects (Offsite Manufacturing)

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Joinery Production Manager with a strong background delivering high-quality restaurant, bar, and hospitality fit‑out projeccts, and exceptional ability in reading technical drawings and working from detailed CAD information.

Unlike a traditional workshop-based role, this position focuses on coordinating production through several offsite manufacturing partners. You will ensure that all external joinery suppliers fully understand design intent, meet quality standards, and work to project timelines.

Acting as the central link between design, estimating, procurement, project management, and multiple manufacturing facilities, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless delivery of complex, bespoke joinery packages.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Coordination & Management (Offsite)

Plan, coordinate, and oversee all joinery production activities carried out by third‑party manufacturers, ensuring deadlines and specifications are met.
Review and interpret technical drawings and CAD files to ensure offsite joinery partners have complete clarity on requirements.
Monitor each supplier’s workflow, progress, and output quality; identify issues early and work collaboratively to resolve them.
Develop and maintain production schedules based on the project pipeline across multiple manufacturing facilities.

2. Technical Oversight

Provide detailed technical guidance to offsite manufacturers, ensuring all bespoke restaurant and bar joinery is produced accurately to specification.
Check drawings, cutting lists, and manufacturing details to ensure consistency and feasibility.
Carry out factory visits to assess progress, inspect workmanship, and verify compliance with design intent.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Set and enforce quality expectations with all external joinery suppliers.
Conduct inspections at key stages to minimise errors, rework, or delays.
Ensure all offsite partners adhere to relevant health & safety, manufacturing, and delivery standards.

4. Materials & Resource Coordination

Work with procurement to ensure that manufacturers are supplied with the correct materials, hardware, and finishes.
Help manage lead times, material availability, and production logistics across multiple sites.
Support cost planning, budgeting, and value engineering.

5. Communication & Collaboration

Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, estimators, and site teams to clarify technical details and resolve design queries.
Act as the main point of contact between internal teams and external joinery suppliers.
Provide clear technical feedback to design/CAD teams to improve efficiency and manufacturability.
Prepare production progress updates for senior management and project stakeholders.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple manufacturing partners simultaneously.
Extensive experience delivering bespoke joinery for restaurants, bars, or hospitality interiors.
Exceptional technical drawing and CAD interpretation skills (essential).
Excellent understanding of modern joinery manufacturing processes and capabilities.
Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities, particularly when working across multiple production environments.
Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of quality.
Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Competent with production management tools and Microsoft Office.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in bespoke joinery production or technical coordination, ideally with hospitality fit‑out exposure.
At least 2–3 years in a coordinator, supervisory, or management position.
NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent (preferred).
Proven experience managing high-spec joinery packages through external manufacturers.
Knowledge of CNC processes and modern manufacturing systems is advantageous.

Additional Requirements

Full UK driving licence (if required).
Willingness to visit offsite manufacturers and project sites as needed
