We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an 8b PACS and RIS Manager to join the Imaging Department at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

This a full-time position (37.5 hours per week).

We are looking for candidates with extensive prior experience within a similar role, working within the NHS or within private practice in the UK.

Candidates must possess a graduate and post graduate degree in Radiography/IT/Health informatics or show evidence of equivalent training or experience.

This is a dynamic role requiring the successful applicant to provide comprehensive management and oversight of the PACS, RIS and other key Imaging digital systems for the Trust. You will also manage th e day-to-day PACS team within the Imaging Department.

The Trust is implementing an Electric Health Record (EPIC) in November 2025.

The role has overall accountability to the Imaging management team for the efficient day-to-day running & ongoing development of Imaging IT systems in the clinical environment, in order to ensure best patient care at all times.

We are looking for a candidate that can use their specialist knowledge and experience to e nsure effective operational management and service delivery to s upport the provision of diagnostic digital services at Trust, regional, and national levels.

* Required to support the Imaging management team to ensure the smooth operation of the Imaging Department.

Responsible for ensuring that Trust staff are trained and competent in the use of Imaging IT solutions.

Must have a high level of communication skills and e xtensive experience with digital system(s) downtime and rectification of these issues.

Ability to troubleshoot high-level issues and ensure delivery of high-quality user support.

Ability to build successful relationships with teams from within and outside the Trust.

Advise and represent the Trust in complex multi-system Digital groups, and subsequent responsibility to lead any engagement in terms of information dissemination or project participation/roll out; ensuring deadlines for any outputs are met.

To have responsibility that appropriate systems are in place to ensure that users are aware of the Imaging Digital systems status and are kept informed and receive feedback with ongoing or unresolved issues.

Previous experience with managing a PACS team or department is essential and a high level of specialist knowledge of IT systems and associated workflows, applications and hardware. The successful candidate will be expected to provide advice, specialist knowledge and expertise to medical staff, non-medical referrers and other radiography staff, based on this experience.

You will be expected to undertake all aspects of managing the PACS team ensuring that staff are competent and able to maintain the service.

The post holder will be expected to accommodate flexible working to include evening and weekend hours as required.
