Overview
We are looking for experienced Cost Managers (all levels up to Project Director) with a minimum of 5 years’ NEC4 experience to support our growth plans, working with a key infrastructure water client in the East Midlands/Cambridgeshire/Peterborough areas, supporting successful delivery of capital projects and programmes. Ideally you will already have NEC4 PM accreditation or be willing to undertake the accreditation training. You will join an established team of experts focused on innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.
As a Cost Manager within our Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, you will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value-driven service for large, high-profile clients across multiple sectors. The role covers all aspects of cost management from inception through to completion, and provides opportunities to support business growth and the development of team members.
Responsibilities
* Deliver all aspects of cost management from project inception through to completion, including feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering, cost reporting, risk management, dispute resolution, post‑contract management, and final accounts.
* Maintain high professional standards in dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the firm’s profile.
* Drive performance and technical excellence through effective communication and use of performance management processes.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and promote the firm as a provider of premium quality services.
* Support internal teams and manage junior staff on technically complex projects.
* Develop marketing opportunities and, where appropriate, bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department to follow up potential leads.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in Cost Management/Quantity Surveying, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects.
* NEC4 Project Management Accreditation or willingness to undertake the accreditation training and assessment on joining our business.
* Experience in cost/commercial management as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams.
* Experience working within a client organisation, directly or through a co-location/secondment arrangement, is beneficial.
* Ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders and build relationships to grow workload.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
* MRICS accreditation or working towards membership.
