You'll be:
* A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
* A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
* MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us)
* On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
* Able to use your skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience
* Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department
Responsibilities
Typical duties include completing eye examinations, contact lens fitting, and extended service examinations. You will work alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards. We support you to gain additional accreditations and provide a comprehensive CPD programme. Your role contributes to delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions under our NHS extended service contracts, and you will assist in developing and enhancing patient services and the customer experience.
Requirements
* Fully qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
* Registered performer with NHS area team or health board
* MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us)
* On track to meet statutory points requirement for CPD
* Evidence of Right to Work in the UK
* Two clinical references (or NHS performer list / WEC accreditation if applying in Wales)
