As a Clerk of Works, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of planned improvement works across our homes. You’ll oversee on-site activity, uphold quality standards, and help ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. Your work will directly contribute to improving the comfort, safety, and overall living experience of our residents.

You’ll work closely with contractors, colleagues, and residents to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support the smooth delivery of kitchen and bathroom replacements, cyclical maintenance, and wider investment programmes. Through thorough inspections, clear reporting, and proactive collaboration, you’ll help ensure our homes are maintained and improved to the highest standard.

How you’ll do it

1. Carry out regular site inspections for cyclical works and kitchen/bathroom renewals, ensuring adherence to standards and contractual specifications.
2. Provide professional technical advice to the Planned Investment Team and maintain strong awareness of the property portfolio.
3. Review contractor proposals and technical specifications, confirming scopes of work with customers and supply chain partners.
4. Attend key project stages (pre‑start, mid‑work, completion), producing detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence.
5. Lead snagging and de‑snagging inspections, ensuring all works meet required standards and certifications are in place.
6. Investigate customer concerns regarding workmanship and support positive customer engagement throughout projects.
7. Verify compliance with health and safety requirements, building regulations, and organisational policies.
8. Support programme planning through stock condition surveys and provide commercial oversight by reviewing invoices for accuracy.
9. Work flexibly across office, site, and community settings as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
