Pharmacy Assistant–Pre‑Packing Unit

Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dedicated pre‑packing team at King's Mill Hospital.
Our Pre‑Packing Unit holds an MHRA Specials Licence, enabling us to pack down and over‑label large batches of medications for both internal departments and external customers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly regulated environment where accuracy, consistency and teamwork are essential.
Responsibilities
* Receiving and checking incoming stock.
* Safe and organised storage of medicines.
* Packing and over‑labelling medication batches.
* Ensuring all products meet quality and regulatory standards.
* Preparing and distributing medicines to internal and external customers.
This role is vital in supporting the safe and efficient flow of medicines throughout the organisation.
Please note, this is not a dispensing role. We do not dispense prescriptions, and there is no patient contact involved.
You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team that plays a crucial role in ensuring medicines are prepared safely and efficiently for patients across the Trust and beyond. Knowledge Requirements
* Knowledge of procedures for packing or equivalent.
Qualifications
* Maths and English Grade C GCSE/GCE.
* NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services.
Further Training
* Manual handling training.
* Health and Safety Training, including COSHH, Fire and Security.
Experience
* Experience of following procedures.
* Proven team member and ability to work alone.
* Proven oral and written communication skills.
* Stock control.
* Pharmaceutical pre‑packing.
Contractual Requirements
* Regular attendance during the required hours.
* Flexible approach to working hours.
* No long‑term infections, diseases or particular drug allergies that preclude production work.
