Responsibilities
* Accept patient referrals based on agreed criteria and act as key worker for a defined patient/client caseload.
* Provide advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health‑care professionals.
* Practice clinically in agreed care settings according to approved protocols or guidance.
* Develop and deliver automated red‑cell exchange transfusion, blood transfusion, phlebotomy and cannulation for children with red‑cell conditions in a day‑care setting.
* Participate in an on‑call team to provide out‑of‑hours exchange transfusion service for sickle cell patients.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered children's nurse.
* Desirable: experience working in day‑care.
* Willingness to learn and develop skills in haemoglobinopathy care.
