Overview
Axcis Education are working closely with a Preston based school which caters for 11 - 16 year olds who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The school is Ofsted judged as "good" and caters for students who struggle to remain in mainstream education. The pupils are predominantly male, aged between 11 – 18 and have a range of additional needs including SEMH difficulties, autism, ADHD, and mild learning difficulties, with some challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities
* Provide support in a range of lessons, primarily leading PE and outdoor education sessions and may be required to lead small groups.
* Assist students with their learning in other subjects when not teaching a sports lesson.
Details
* Role start: after the October half-term; ideally 3 November, on a full-time basis.
* Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
* Location: Rochdale (school with links to public transport and on-site parking).
* Pay: £90 per day PAYE.
Requirements
* Experience as a sports coach and ability to transfer skills to an education setting.
* Confidence in working with children who can display challenging behaviours.
* Ready to work across multiple lessons and support pupils across subjects as needed.
