We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated, passionate and driven to become part of our Housekeeping team at Roborough House in Woolwell, Plymouth. Roborough House provides expert care and treatments to adults with complex support needs, resulting from mental health disorders, dementias, strokes and progressive neurological conditions and associated comorbidities such as epilepsy, dysphagia, diabetes and behavior’s that may challenge a mainstream nursing home. Roborough House is located in Woolwell; a suburb on the north-east fringe of the city of Plymouth, located just outside the city’s boundaries in the district of the South Hams. It is situated along the A386, close to the boundary of Dartmoor National park, with good view of the surrounding landscape. Domestic Assistant- Night Shift 23:00-07:00 3 x Nights per Week 22.5 hours per Week Fixed 2 Week rota, every other Weekend. Key Criteria and Skills: Knowledge of COSHH Knowledge of Electrical cleaning equipment Understanding and demonstration of personal hygiene Good Basic Literacy skills Good communication skills Team worker Able to use own initiative Positive approach Ability to assist service users with daily living skills Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the service Comfortable and confident to engage with service users, their families, carers and other professionals Experience in a Domestic and Housekeeping role or environment Ability to work weekends and flexibility to cover shifts at times to cover for periods of annual leave or sickness. General Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive): General cleaning of units across the service and working within the Laundry. Cleaning service users’ rooms and communal areas. Mopping, sweeping, dusting, hoovering, carpet cleaning. Washing, drying, ironing and folding clothing and bed linens and putting these into service user bedrooms. Completion of documentation in relation to cleaning and occasional care related documentation if you have had significant interactions with service users. Stocking up communal areas. Receiving and storing away of Housekeeping deliveries.
