Technical Director - Peatland HydrologyGlasgow (Hybrid Working Available)Permanent | Full-Time£55,000 - £65,000This is a rare chance to step into a senior role where your expertise in peatland hydrology will actually steer the direction of both projects and people.We're looking for a Technical Director who's ready to lead from the front-whether that's shaping restoration strategies, guiding junior consultants, or representing the team with clients and stakeholders. It's a place where your ideas will matter, and where you'll be supported in growing your technical influence, commercial confidence, and leadership voice.Your Role Will Include:Leading technical work on peatland hydrology and restoration-from early-stage assessments to delivery and reporting.Overseeing project inputs such as hydrological surveys, peatland management plans, EIAR chapters, and feasibility reports.Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, regulators, and stakeholders across renewable energy, infrastructure, and land use sectors.Supporting and mentoring colleagues at all levels, helping to build confidence and close technical skill gaps within the team.Contributing to business development-scoping work, writing bids, and building trusted client relationships.Playing an active role in how the team improves, evolves, and succeeds.What You'll Bring:Significant experience in peatland hydrology (typically 10-15+ years).A relevant degree; postgraduate qualification or PhD a plus.Chartered membership of a relevant professional body.Solid understanding of environmental policy and planning frameworks in the UK.Hands-on experience with peatland and soils-related reporting (e.g. PLHRA, GWDTE, PWS).Clear, confident communication skills-and experience working directly with regulatory bodies.A proactive, collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in helping others grow.What You'll Get in Return:£55,000 - £65,000Flexible hybrid working (Glasgow base with home-working options)25 days annual leave + bank holidays (with increases over time)20 days per year CPD timePaid professional membershipPrivate medical insuranceIf you're ready to take the lead on impactful environmental work-and help shape the future of a forward-thinking consultancy-we'd love to hear from you.Apply now or get in touch for a confidential conversation.TPBN1_UKTJ
