Job Description
Design and analyze Active Magnetic Bearings and auxiliary bearing systems, create technical content for sales proposals, and support commissioning of new and existing magnetic bearing systems. Serve as the technical project lead, interacting with customers and supporting commissioning engineers in tuning and troubleshooting systems.
What You Will Do
* Complete rotordynamic and control system analysis on magnetic bearing systems.
* Support mechanical and electromagnetic design processes, including stress analysis, heat transfer analysis, and electromagnetic analysis.
* Use SolidWorks and SW Simulator to perform FEA analysis and support checking of drawings.
* Provide interface between rotordynamic and control system design and analyses and their implementation into controllers, tuning and commissioning activities.
* Provide effective technical interface with external and internal customers.
* Interface with internal manufacturing department for satisfactory implementation of bearing system designs.
* Must be willing to travel occasionally (up to 10%) for project support.
Required Profile
* Education: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
* Experience: Minimum 5 years full‑time experience designing and analyzing turbomachinery or rotating equipment, ideally with magnetic bearing systems.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical design, GD&T, stress analysis, heat transfer, materials science and rotordynamics.
* Beneficial Knowledge: Electromagnetics, electronics, instrumentation, signal processing, and control systems.
* Software: Established working knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and FEA software.
* Drawing Review: Experience reviewing detailed mechanical drawings and specifying dimensioning and tolerancing.
