Overview
As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the planning, preparation, and delivery of nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to residents\' needs. With a focus on fresh ingredients, dietary requirements, and high standards of food safety, this role combines creativity with purpose in a supportive and caring environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals
* Plan and prepare menus that meet a variety of dietary needs, including allergies, medical conditions, and cultural preferences
* Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and aligned with residents\' hydration and nutrition needs
* Manage stock, ordering, and budgets effectively
* Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards
* Work closely with care and nursing teams to support residents\' wellbeing
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Head Chef or senior chef, ideally within a care home or healthcare setting
* Strong knowledge of allergies, specialist diets, and nutrition in older adults
* Excellent leadership and organisational skills
* A genuine passion for food and improving quality of life through mealtimes
* Up-to-date food hygiene and safety certifications
