Our client is a well-regarded London-based law firm with a strong reputation for its collaborative culture and commercial focus. As the firm continues to invest in its Business Development & Marketing function, it is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support its Corporate Practice on a permanent basis.
The Opportunity
This is a strategic role for a confident and commercially minded Business Development Manager who will act as a trusted adviser to partners, shaping growth across the Corporate Practice. Key responsibilities include:
* Driving business development across the Corporate Practice, including Corporate Transaction Services, IP & Commercial, and Employment & Immigration
* Leading the firmwide sector strategy through targeted campaigns, events, and thought leadership
* Developing and delivering annual BD plans and budgets aligned with firm objectives
* Advising and influencing partners on growth opportunities, pitches, and client development
* Leading and improving the firm’s approach to pitches, tenders, and credentials
* Coaching partners and associates on BD activity and personal development plans
* Managing agreed firmwide BD projects and cross-practice initiatives
* Line managing and developing a BD Assistant
Requirements
* Proven business development experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services
* Strong influencing skills with experience advising at partner level
* Track record of successful pitching and client development
* Line management experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Degree educated and/or CIM qualified
