Programme Manager
36 Hours. 1.0 WTE – 12 month fixed‑term contract. Band 8a. Location: Hybrid at Huntlyburn Terrace, BGH.
NHS Borders are continuously delivering a varied portfolio of IT programmes. Many of these projects and programmes are linked to upgrades and enhancements to our critical PAS solutions and Primary Care Systems.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT Programme Manager or Senior IT Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering Microsoft 365 or IT Infrastructure projects. They will have a minimum of eight years project and programme management experience.
Essential Skills And Experience Required For This Role
* A minimum of two years previous experience of managing large scale IT Programmes.
* A minimum of eight years’ experience of IT Project Management and complex IT Systems upgrades and implementations.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering IT Infrastructure projects
* Experience of managing large multi‑disciplinary technical projects and programme teams.
* Good relationship building skills
* Clear and confident communicator builds rapport quickly.
* Extensive experience of programme and project management; project planning, management, project and programme financial management, effort estimation, and decision analysis skills; exceptional focus on delivery (proactive monitoring and remedial action).
* Clear evidence of budget management skills and financial processes and governance within programme and project delivery.
Desirable Experience And Qualifications
* Formal Project/Programme Management qualifications such as APM PMQ, PMP, MSP, PgMP.
* Strong supplier management experience
* Public sector experience
We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic individual with strong technical delivery experience, who can hit the ground running and quickly take full ownership of critical programmes, overseeing multiple technical workstreams.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established NHS IT Team, working on a wide range of interesting and innovative local and national IT Infrastructure programmes and projects within the Scottish Borders.
The successful candidate can work a hybrid pattern with time split between onsite and home working.
