Mechanical Estimator – Hybrid | Castleford
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support the delivery of accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders within a busy M&E environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across project and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed mechanical cost estimates, material take-offs, and cost breakdowns
* Review and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Support the full tender process, including bid preparation and project handover
* Analyse market rates, benchmark data, and project risks to ensure accurate pricing
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners
* Contribute to continuous improvement within the estimating function
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience within mechanical estimating or a similar role
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of M&E project delivery
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills
Qualifications
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths (required)
* HNC/BTEC in Construction or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
* Degree or chartership (advantageous)
