We're working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School that is seeking a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a child with challenging behaviours in a mainstream classroom. The role is both rewarding and dynamic, offering the chance to make a real impact in a young learner’s life.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 support to a KS1/KS2 pupil with SEMH needs
Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies
Build trusting relationships to encourage emotional regulation and engagement with learning
Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver consistent, tailored support
About You:
Confident and calm under pressure
Previous experience with SEMH, EBD, or similar behavioural needs essential
Strong communication skills and firm but empathetic approach
Team player with a positive, proactive mindset
Team Teach, MAPA or similar de-escalation training is highly desirable (or willingness to undertake training)
