Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Type: Permanent
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Sheffield. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of products in various industries.
Responsibilities
* Design mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery using SolidWorks.
* Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models.
* Design sheet metal components and welded fabrications to manufacturing standards.
* Support machinery and automotive design projects from concept through to manufacture.
* Liaise with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
* Generate BOMs and technical documentation.
* Support prototype builds, testing, and design improvements.
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
* Strong experience using SolidWorks (essential).
* Background in mechanical design within fabrication, machinery, or automotive environments.
* 2 Years + Experience in Mechanical Design.
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* BSc / BEng qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design / Product Design Engineering or similar.
