Job Description Summary Lead Electrical Commissioning Authorised Technician Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm GE Vernova GE Vernova is recruiting Lead Electrical Commissioning Authorised Technicians to support commissioning activities on the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm. This role is suited to experienced LV/HV electrical professionals with a strong commissioning background and proven capability in leading offshore technical teams. The position provides a defined progression pathway to Commissioning Supervisor, with structured development covering LV/HV commissioning competence and GE Vernova leadership expectations. Role Scope You will be responsible for the safe execution and supervision of LV and HV electrical commissioning activities on offshore wind turbines, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and energised in accordance with design documentation, method statements, and applicable standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical judgement, disciplined adherence to safety processes, and effective team coordination offshore. Job Description Key Responsibilities Commissioning & Electrical Systems Lead offshore teams performing installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, and fault rectification on LV and HV electrical systems, including: Power converters Transformers HV/LV switchgear Circuit breakers and protection systems Execute and supervise commissioning activities in line with approved method statements, risk assessments, and commissioning procedures Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure correct system configuration Support senior engineers during energisation, functional testing, and handover activities Ensure accurate completion of commissioning documentation, test records, and non-conformance reports Fault Finding & Diagnostics Diagnose LV and HV electrical faults using appropriate test and diagnostic equipment Lead fault-finding activities, applying systematic root-cause analysis Interface with engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex issues and implement corrective actions Safety, Authorisation & Team Leadership Act as an Authorised Technician, maintaining strict compliance with GE Vernova and industry electrical safety rules Lead electrical isolations, switching, and control of work within authorised limits Conduct task-specific risk assessments and toolbox talks Supervise and mentor Competent and Authorised Technicians, ensuring safe systems of work and consistent technical standards Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and procedural feedback Required Qualifications Electrical or Wind Technician apprenticeship, diploma, or degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Demonstrated experience working on LV and HV electrical systems HVWP1 City & Guilds certification Desired Experience & Technical Competence Experience leading commissioning or electrical teams offshore (wind, oil & gas, or other marine HV environments) Authorised Person (AP) experience within an MV or HV framework Proven HV switching experience on 11 kV and 33 kV systems Strong understanding of protection systems, electrical safety rules, and commissioning methodologies High competence in reading and validating electrical drawings and schematics Extensive hands-on experience with electrical testing, measurement, and diagnostic equipment Ability to lead technical teams, maintain discipline offshore, and develop technician capability Additional relevant certifications (e.g. HV Safety, Electrical Authorisation, Certified Electrical Technician) Development & Progression Successful candidates will be developed toward a Commissioning Supervisor OR already be Commissioning Supervisor and looking for your next step: Progressive LV/HV commissioning responsibility Leadership and behavioural development aligned with GE Vernova standards Exposure to full turbine commissioning and handover scope Why GE Vernova GE Vernova offers a technically rigorous offshore environment where: Safety and procedural compliance are non-negotiable Technical excellence and disciplined execution are expected Leaders are developed from within Teams are empowered to identify risk, challenge unsafe conditions, and improve processes Career mapped to defined pay scale leading benefits package Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: No \LI-Remote - This is a remote position GE Vernova is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
