YouthOptions has developed a reputation for delivering high qualitytargeted youth work to support young people to minimise the impactof negative life experiences
The aim of ourtargeted provision is to engage develop and empower children andyoung people who have experienced negative life experiences whichmay impact their future outcomes; this may include looked afterchildren young people who have been excluded or risk exclusion fromeducation those engaging in risky behaviours or those sufferingwith poor mental health.
An important element ofour targeted support is Key Work; support is usually onetoone oroccasionally small groups in order to work towards specific targetsthat meet young peoples personal development needs. Young peopleare supported to develop their social and emotional capabilitiesresilience and mental wellbeing and to reengage with theireducation.
As a Key Work you will plan deliverand evaluate highquality Key Work programmes. You will haveexperience of working with children and young people in a varietyof settings and a proven ability to offer highquality youthledactivities.
Regular evening and occasionalweekend working will berequired.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Tosupport the development and implementation of programmes andactivities to meet the needs of young people.
Working with young people in a variety ofsettings including but not extensively; Their home schools Pupilreferral Units planned activities and out in thecommunity
To support young people to develop and worktowards individual action plans
Ensure outcomes andoutputs are met
To engage young people in aprocess of personal and social development in a variety of wayswhich may include individual key work and educationalsupport
To accompany young people on activities trainingsessions school sites appointments and interviews asnecessary
To maintain contact records registers ofattendance and activities experienced by allparticipants
To keep accurate records of all sessionsindividual meetings and actions taken in relation to children andyoung people
To liaise with parents/carers/social workersdealing with issues as and when theyarise
Qualifications:
MinimumLevel 3 qualification in relevant subject (Youth and Community IAGetc)
A range of youth focused qualifications (Informationadvice guidance SRE Drugs and
Alcohol ChallengingBehaviouretc)
Experience:
Workingwith children and young people (Minimum 2 years)
Workingwith at risk or vulnerable children and young people (Minimum 1year)
Working with outside agencies and organisations in apositive and professional manner
Planning effectiveprogrammes of work for children and youngpeople
