Flexible Cleaning Operative
Liberton/ Gracemount area
Salary: £24,346 - £24,646 (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 15 per week, 52 weeks, Monday - Friday 3.30 pm - 6.30 pm
As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver a vital cleaning service across our estate to ensure our properties are safe and clean places to work or learn in. Major Tasks/Job Activities
* Empty litter and recycling bins.
* Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures, and fittings within buildings.
* Clean all sanitary areas, toilets, showers, and replenish washroom consumables.
* Emergency and reactive cleaning, e.g., graffiti removal, spillages.
* Care and cleanliness of all equipment used.
* Support cleaning tasks across other buildings as required.
* Deliver to cleaning specifications and cooperate with performance measurement to meet standards.
Additional duties: The post holder will be required to be a key holder, involved in opening and closing buildings, operating security alarm systems, and ensuring premises are secure.

Requirements
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. If you have spent more than 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.

Our salary range reflects the initial starting salary with annual increases up to the top of the range.
