About the Role
Based in a supportive SEN school environment in Gloucester, you will work closely with students, teachers, teaching assistants, and mental health professionals to provide tailored support that promotes emotional resilience, psychological and emotional well-being, and academic success. The role will involve 1:1 and small-group work with students who have mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and OCD to develop coping mechanisms and build confidence in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide empathetic and regular emotional support to students experiencing mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, OCD
* Help to deliver wellbeing and mental health interventions
* Collaborate with teachers, mental health counselors, and parents to create a learning plan
* Measure and monitor students' progress
* Create a safe school atmosphere with a positive attitude
Experience & Qualifications
* Previous experience working with children is vital
* Experience working with children with mental health issues is beneficial
* Safeguarding training is required for dealing with complex needs
* A degree is desirable; Level 3 qualifications are required
Additional Details
Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Working pattern: Full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm
Salary: £85–£95 per day
