Apple Orchard Labourers Needed – Pendarves, Ashburton
Join the team at one of New Zealand's newest high-intensity apple orchards and help shape the future of our orchard development.
We’re currently expanding our apple orchard in Pendarves, Ashburton and are looking for physically fit and reliable individuals to join us in a variety of hands-on roles on a fixed term contract. If you enjoy working outdoors and want to be part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Duties Include:
Orchard Trellis Structure Installation: Cabling, wiring, and system setup
Planting: handling young trees in to position and securing in place.
Tree painting: Painting the bases of trees to prevent damage from animals
Dripline clipping and installation: Running out of dripline and clipping it to wires and fitting of connections.
Netting Installation: Safeguard crops from adverse weather
Tree Training & Fruit Thinning: Enhance fruit quality and protect tree structure
Pruning: Maintain tree health and productivity
Machinery Operation: Operate orchard machinery (e.g., hydraladas, tractors, diggers) – training provided
Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
General Orchard Tasks: As directed by supervisors and management
What We’re Looking For:
Physically capable of outdoor labour in all weather conditions
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Previous orchard or horticulture experience is a bonus—but not essential
