Title: Digital Business Development Manager
About KBR and the Project: KBR’s Estates Intelligence team are market leaders in the public sector FM Assurance market, providing innovative centralized technical platforms and professional services to a diverse range of central government and departmental estates portfolios to enable effective estate management and supply chain oversight.
About the Role
The Estates Intelligence team has recently refreshed its strategic market offering and rebranded all client-facing services into a compelling proposition to secure new opportunities. To advance, we seek a dedicated and experienced Business Development Manager to identify prospects, lead framework and tender bid development, manage key relationships, and secure new business. The successful candidate will meet regularly with the team in Leatherhead or Swindon and work across client sites to grow opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
1. Securing new business by identifying opportunities aligned with our BD strategy and sectors.
2. Conducting market research and intelligence gathering.
3. Initiating client contact, scoping, and confirming client needs.
4. Collaborating with SMEs to develop proposals.
5. Transitioning successful bids into operational projects.
The role requires converting the Estates Intelligence strategy into a mature business growth approach, working with team members to identify stakeholders, develop engagement methods, and become SMEs on the methodology and technology to represent KBR externally. Establishing an effective network across clients and partners to identify growth opportunities is critical, requiring excellent interpersonal skills.
Reporting To
The role reports to the Real Estates Director and involves:
* Developing the Business Development approach, identifying markets, stakeholders, frameworks, and initiatives.
* Building and maintaining a stakeholder network.
* Supporting market and competitor analysis.
* Pre-positioning KBR’s Estates Intelligence team with potential clients.
* Converting opportunities into wins and growth.
* Drafting sales and bid materials as needed.
Essential Professional Experience
* Proven experience in self-generating leads and opportunities.
* Experience converting private and public sector opportunities into successful growth.
* Relationship management and networking with senior stakeholders across sectors.
Desirable Experience
* Experience managing estates in the public or private sector, including FM and asset management.
Essential Skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional relationship building.
* Negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
* Tenacity and resilience managing multiple leads.
Desirable Skills
* Proficiency in creating PowerPoint presentations and bid writing.
The role is hybrid, requiring regular attendance at Leatherhead HQ, occasional travel to Swindon and client sites (London).
