We are an early-stage social impact startup with a clear mission: to reduce loneliness among care home residents by building a platform that connects them with psychology students for enriching conversations, companionship, and learning opportunities. We’re bridging generations and giving future mental health professionals hands-on interpersonal experience, while dramatically improving the quality of life for older adults.

Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and visionary Co-founder to join the founding team and help shape this venture from the ground up. This person will take a lead role in operations, partnerships, and impact strategy — someone who thrives in ambiguity, has a bias toward action, and cares deeply about mental health, elder care, and human connection.
You’ll work closely with the technical co-founder (or founding team) to build, pilot, and scale our platform.
Responsibilities
* Strategy & Vision: Co-develop the startup’s vision, values, and long-term roadmap
* Operations: Build and refine the day-to-day systems needed to run and grow the organization — from onboarding care homes and students to facilitating match-making and session logistics
* Partnerships & Outreach: Cultivate relationships with universities, care homes, elder care networks, and mental health organizations
* User Research & Feedback: Design and run interviews and pilots with care home residents, staff, and students to validate the model and continuously improve the service
* Team Building: Help attract and hire the early team — especially in areas like community engagement, product, or clinical oversight
* Funding & Growth: Collaborate on fundraising (grants, VCs, or social impact funds), pitch to accelerators, and help secure early revenue or support channels
Who You Are
* Passionate about mental health, elder care, or intergenerational connection
* Empathetic and a natural relationship-builder — comfortable talking with both care home managers and student volunteers
* Startup-minded — adaptable, resourceful, action-oriented
* Experienced in at least one relevant area: operations, social impact, psychology, healthcare, education, or tech-for-good
* Mission-Driven — you’re not just looking for a business, but a cause worth building for
Bonus Points If You Have:
* Worked in or with care homes, or studied psychology, social work, or gerontology
* Experience in impact measurement or public health
* Familiarity with volunteer coordination or youth engagement
* Connections in the elder care, academic, or nonprofit sectors
