Chef Care Home Environment

40 Hours per Week Alternate Weekends Required
Shifts: 7:00am 6:00pm

Quest Employment is currently recruiting for an experienced Chef to join a well-established and welcoming nursing home in Welwyn Garden City.

The Role

As Chef, you will play a key role in creating nutritious, high-quality meals and ensuring residents receive an excellent dining experience every day.

Duties will include:

• Preparing and cooking high-quality meals for residents
• Supporting the Chef Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Supervising kitchen staff in the Chef Managers absence
• Assisting with menu planning and dietary requirements
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
• Carrying out cleaning duties and ensuring the kitchen is maintained to a high standard
• Supporting compliance with food safety regulations and risk assessments

About You

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Chef who is passionate about food and enjoys working in a caring, resident-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Chef within a catering or hospitality environment
• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate
• City & Guilds 7061 or NVQ Level 2 in Catering/Hospitality (preferred)
• Ideally 3+ years experience in a similar Chef role
• A positive, can-do attitude
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• A friendly and approachable manner when interacting with residents, families and colleagues
• A passion for producing high-quality meals consistently
