University College London Hospitals undertakes world-class research across many specialities including cancer, neurology, stroke, rheumatology, and early phase medicine. In this role you will be a key part of facilitating this research. You will be an integral part of a team of clinical trial senior pharmacists who provide a high-quality dispensary and production service, thereby giving access to new, ground-breaking treatments to patients via study protocols. The postholder will provide support to the clinical trials pharmacy department in training and development from December 2025 to 31 march 2026. A GPhC-registered, pharmacist with at least 2 years’ post registration experience in an NHS hospital healthcare setting would be well suited. The post holder will be well supported by the Highly Specialist and Principal Research Pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of the UCLH clinical trials team to provide the pharmacy input and oversight of clinical trials across all sites in a manner consistent with Good Clinical Practice GCP requirements and other relevant guidelines

• Plan and participate in the maintenance of clinical trials with respect to systems, patients, and staff at UCLH
• Support the day-to-day smooth running of the operational and dispensary functions of the pharmacy clinical trials team.
• Support with the mentoring and development of the clinical trial technical team.
• Monitor the progress of clinical trials in set up or undergoing amendment, and support or escalate as needed to maintain agreement timeframes.
• Provide advice to the wider research community when appropriate and escalate to senior pharmacists when appropriate.
• Participate in the management and development of the pharmacy clinical trial service at UCLH
