Since opening in 1999, weve been passionate about bringing people together through music offering an extensive range of vinyl, CDs, and merchandise covering everything from drum & bass, jungle, and house to indie, rock, and beyond.
Alongside our iconic city-centre store and our original home at the Viaducts, we run a busy online operation serving customers across the UK and worldwide. Our small, dedicated team is all about sharing our love of music, providing great service, and keeping the vinyl culture alive.
Were now looking for an organised and enthusiastic Record Shop Assistantto join the team and help keep our online operations running smoothly.
About the Role
As our Record Shop & Website Assistant you will handle all aspects of online order fulfillment alongside traditional in-store retail duties. This hybrid role requires a detail-oriented person who is passionate about music and comfortable with both customer service and back-of-house tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Process and pack online and in-store orders quickly and accurately.
Prepare postage labels and arrange courier collections (Royal Mail, DPD, etc.).
Pick stock from the shop floor and storage areas, checking items carefully.
Keep order and inventory systems up to date.
Assist with deliveries unpacking, checking, and restocking items.
Respond to customer enquiries instore and online.
Maintain tidy packing and stock areas.
Support the shop floor team when necessary with general duties (tidying, merchandising, serving customers).
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Previous retail, warehouse, or e-commerce experience.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Fluent with computer packages such as Excel & Outlook.
A deep passion for music and knowledge of different genres is essential for giving knowledgeable recommendations.
Familiarity with e-commerce platforms like Discogs, Ebay & Amazon, POS systems, and other software is very useful.
Familiarity with courier and postage systems (e.g. Royal Mail Click & Drop).
