Description This role supports Costain for the Reactor Height Reduction Project at Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) Trawsfynydd Site, based in North Wales. The 4 year, £60M project will involve the partial demolition of each RB’s, reducing the overall height and reducing the current asset management liability. In addition, an extensive package of civil new build and remedial Works will be delivered prolonging the durability of the retained structures. A first of its kind for the Nuclear Sector; this challenging and exciting project which includes a wide supply chain will significantly reduce the uncertainty associated with the current condition of the reactor buildings and lessen the visual impact caused by the Reactor Buildings on the Snowdonia National Park. This role is primarily based on site and candidates must undergo client security clearance (BPSS). LI-ES1 Responsibilities Responsibilities Management of multiple subcontractor packages, ensuring that their package is delivered on site safely, to the programme, of the correct quality and to budget. Act as the point of contact for the subcontractors delivering the scope of works. Integrate the subcontractor with other subcontractors within their respective package and coordinate between the rest of the site delivery team. Assist the Construction Manager with management of the contractor’s (once appointed) to develop the work methods, identify and develop supporting temporary works and manage interface with key stakeholders. Develop programmes and forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity achieved and review weekly, acting where appropriate, and reporting any changes to the Construction Manager and QS department. Assist the Construction Manager and Frontline Supervisors with management of subcontractors’ contract conditions, development of job specific subcontract conditions and management of the subcontractors account with the QS team. Ensure that inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements, permitting arrangements and temporary works requirements for the control of the works are reviewed, approved, and adhered to. Provide Intelligent oversight of the works and site activities and where required raise relevant documentation such as TQ’s RFI’s, NCR’s Co-ordination and liaison with relevant site teams and functions to enable the works, including cross business functional departments Assist with the production of monthly reports for financial forecasting, monitoring and control of project cost. Provide visible leadership on health and safety aspects. Understand the Client Environment and Sustainability Policies, processes and statutory requirements as they affect the project’s operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented on the project. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential Experience at a similar level on a major project or in a highly regulated environment. Experience of managing subcontract packages. Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practice. IT competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system). Desirable: Experience of civils and/or construction works. Experience working in a nuclear environment. NEC3/4 contract experience. Microsoft Project/Primavera P6 experience.
