Finance Manager – English Dominican Congregation (Stone) Ltd - please note that St Roses is supporting EDC Trustees in this recruitment
Location: Work from home with occasional travel to Care Home in Stone, Staffordshire
Salary - £50K- £60k (depending on experience)
Actual: £10,500 - £12,191 per annum (1 day per week approximately)

The Dominican Order is a religious order in the Catholic Church and is a worldwide organisation.
The Dominican Sisters of the English Congregation of St Catherine of Siena like all groups belonging to the Dominican Order have as their primary task preaching the word of God wherever they find themselves.
The Sisters are only based in England and have small communities in Stroud, Cambridge, Stone and Leicester. Several sisters live in Nursing homes in Stone and Cheltenham, but their welfare is closely monitored by the Trustees of the Congregation and they remain much loved and valued members of the Congregation.

The Trustees of EDC are looking to appoint a Finance Manager. The congregation also owns St. Mary's Home and St. Rose's school.
St. Mary's Home is a home for the elderly and infirm, which aims to provide a high standard of nursing care within a Christian environment, where nonetheless residents of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds are welcomed. A homely, friendly and open atmosphere that promotes the privacy, dignity and rights of all our residents is offered. Latest Care Quality Commission Rating: Good (June 2025)
St Rose’s School is a Catholic school providing education, therapy and day and residential care for children and young people between 2-25 with a range of physical disabilities, sensory, learning and communication difficulties and complex health needs. St Roses is a lively, non-maintained Catholic day and residential special school established by the Dominican Sisters in 1912. The Gospel message is at the heart of the school, which ensures that all students feel happy, safe, valued and loved. Latest Ofsted Rating: Good (November 2025)
This is a permanent senior leadership role for English Dominican Congregation, reporting directly to the Trustees and Prioress General, with responsibility for financial management, statutory reporting and other compliance in line with its registered charity status.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be largely working from home with initial induction and handover in Stroud, Gloucestershire. It is possible to be located in Stroud if required. Details will be discussed at interview.

Key Responsibilities
•Lead financial management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
•Prepare monthly management accounts and quarterly/annual financial reports
•Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
•Monitor budgets, support budget holders, and flag financial variances and risks.
•Maintain accurate financial records and systems (Sage 50 Accounts)
•Develop and maintain financial policies, controls and procurement processes
•Attend senior leadership and Trustee meetings
•Liaison with key professional advisers
About You
•ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with minimum 2 years post qualification experience.
•Background in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting
•Experience in charity accounting
•Confident producing reports for senior leadership and trustees
•Highly organised, detail-focused and proactive
•Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and accounting software
•Passionate about working for a values-driven organisation
