Permanent Project Engineer (Electrical Bias) – Utilities / Pump Stations – Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire – £55,000 - £65,000 + Excellent Package
The Opportunity
We're working in partnership with a major utilities contractor to recruit a Project Engineer with a strong electrical background for a brand-new, long-term utilities framework based in Rickmansworth. This is a permanent role offering genuine stability, technical challenge, and the chance to be involved from the early stages of a flagship project delivering critical pump station infrastructure. The Role
As Project Engineer, you\'ll play a key role in the delivery of pump station projects, with a particular focus on electrical engineering, coordination, and project execution. Working closely with Project Managers, site teams, and subcontractors, you\'ll help ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
* Managing and coordinating the electrical elements of pump station projects
* Supporting the project lifecycle from design through to commissioning and handover
* Reviewing and managing technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
* Liaising with DNOs, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Assisting with programme planning, cost control, and risk management
* Ensuring works comply with industry standards, health & safety, and quality requirements
* Supporting commissioning activities and resolving technical issues on site
This role offers a strong mix of office-based engineering and site involvement, ideal for someone who enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion.
About You
You'll be an experienced engineer with a clear electrical bias and a background in utilities, water, or pump station environments. We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
* An Electrical Engineering background (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
* Proven experience working on pump stations, water, wastewater, or utilities projects
* A solid understanding of electrical installations, controls, MCCs, and commissioning
* Experience supporting or delivering projects within a contractor environment
* Strong communication and coordination skills
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset
Chartered status isn\'t essential, but ambition and the desire to progress absolutely are.
