We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Payroll and Accounts clerk to join our small team in Denbigh, North Wales. The role is full time, working 35 hours per week at our Denbigh office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client payroll schemes, processing weekly and monthly payrolls and processing of workplace pensions. You will be the main point of contact for many of our payroll clients.
You will also assist in the preparation and compilation of incorporated and unincorporated financial statements, management accounts and VAT returns, to include spreadsheet analysis work and the use of accounting packages such as Sage, Quickbooks, Free Agent and Xero, as required.
You will work as part of a small team and must be able to work well in a deadline driven time-pressured situation.
Main duties will include:
· Processing weekly/monthly/four weekly payrolls for our clients
· Processing of workplace pensions and register new schemes as required
· Dealing with client queries in relation to their payroll
· Preparation of quarterly VAT for a number of clients
· General bookkeeping duties for clients as required
· Assist in the preparation of financial statements
· Using Sage, Free Agent, Quickbooks and Xero packages
Essential Skills:
· Educated to GCSE level. Must have GCSE Mathematics & English Grade C level or above.
· AAT level 4 qualification
· Experience in processing payroll
· A good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel & Word.
· Well-organised, problem -solving approach, good timekeeping, works well in a deadline driven time-pressured situation
· Effective communicator, on phone, in writing and in person
Desirable Skills:
· Experience of dealing with customers/clients
· Experience in using Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 50 Accounts suites
· Experience in using Quickbooks, Free Agent and Xero
· The ability to communicate in Welsh
