Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and possess a passion for enhancing the lives of seniors. This role involves supervising junior staff, developing care plans, and ensuring that all residents receive personalised support tailored to their needs.
Duties
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
* Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support as needed
* Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
* Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition
* Foster a warm and welcoming environment for residents, promoting their dignity and independence
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
* Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to senior care and IT systems used within the facility
Experience
* Previous experience in a care home or senior care environment is essential
* Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a team setting
* Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues
* Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual needs is advantageous
* Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care documentation and reporting is beneficial
* A valid driving licence is preferred due to the location of the care home
