Inclusive Education Support Assistant Location: Ashington Setting: SEND School – Specialist Provision Pupils: 250 children and young people aged 4–19 years Contract: [Full-time / Part-time | Term-time only] About the Role: Leader Education are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Inclusive Education Support Assistant to join our specialist SEND school in Ashington. The school provides high-quality education and care for children and young people aged 4–19 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties (SLD/PMLD). This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with complex needs in a nurturing, inclusive, and highly supportive environment, helping them to engage with learning, develop communication skills, and achieve their individual potential. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties Support pupils with communication needs, including the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) Assist with personal care, mobility, and physical support where required, ensuring dignity and respect Support sensory, physical, and therapeutic activities as directed by teachers and specialists Work closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to implement EHCPs Help create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment Promote pupils’ independence, wellbeing, and engagement Follow safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times We are looking for someone who is : Compassionate, patient, and committed to inclusive education Passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs Able to work calmly and sensitively in a care and education setting A reliable team player with strong communication skills Flexible, proactive, and willing to learn Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupils’ welfare Desirable Experience (but Not Essential) What Leader Education Offers: A fulfilling role making a meaningful difference in children’s lives Ongoing professional support and development opportunities Refer-a-friend bonus scheme: £100 per successful referral (terms apply) Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a comprehensive CV outlining relevant experience and qualifications.
