3 month contract role with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• Provide high-quality administrative and business support within Children’s Social Care, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely processing of referrals and effective communication with families and professionals.
• Operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, supporting front-line services and contributing to the smooth running of the department.
• Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism, empathy and attention to detail at all times.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Maintain and update family records, ensuring all information is accurate, complete and up to date.
• Handle a high volume of incoming calls from families and multi-agency professionals, responding with professionalism, sensitivity and efficiency.
• Process referrals onto internal systems (e.g. Liquidlogic, EHM) within required timescales.
• Liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners including police, schools and health professionals.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of electronic records to support service delivery and management reporting.
• Provide administrative support to managers and the wider team to ensure smooth operational delivery.
• Participate in supervision, training, team meetings and the Personal Appraisal Development Scheme (PADS).
• Uphold confidentiality, safeguarding responsibilities and equal opportunities policies at all times.
• Undertake additional duties as required to support the effective running of the service.
Skills/Experience:
• Proven administrative experience, ideally within local government, social care or a similar environment.
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced setting with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident handling of challenging or sensitive telephone calls, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
• Experience of working with case management systems (e.g. Liquidlogic, EHM) is desirable.
• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across multi-agency environments.
• Quick learner with the ability to hit the ground running.
• Good understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection principles.
Additional Information:
• Bi-Weekly Payments.
• Location: Bromley (office-based minimum 3 days per week – mandatory).
• Contract: Temporary (12 weeks).
• Hours: 36 hours per week.
• Pay Rate: Umbrella: £124.13 per day.
• Start Date: 30 March 2026 (target).
