Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN/SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in Lancashire. Multiple positions are available, and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs)/SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We are looking for SEN/SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Lancashire. At Targeted Provision, our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN/SEND Support Specialists.

This role is perfect for qualified SEN/SEND teachers eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise their engagement and drastically improve their educational journey.


What we offer our SEN/SEND Tutors:

* Flexible part-time up to Full-time hours to suit your schedule
* Occasional remote jobs and online teaching assignments, allowing work from home
* Extensive CPD and upskilling opportunities, including access to the full Tes CPD suite while working with us
* A dedicated SEN/SEND Support Team to ensure successful placements for both the young person and you
* Invitation to join our tutor community for sharing best practices, resources, and tips
* A role providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other additional needs referred by local authorities and schools
* Support in their educational and social-emotional journey via flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


SEN/SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:

* Planning each session of teaching/tutoring/mentoring
* Providing holistic and engaging sessions tailored to meet individual needs and support their educational and social-emotional development
* Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress
* Engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* Working through a contract for service and paid via PAYE
* Note: We do not offer a set amount of work or expenses coverage; our insurance covers your work for us. This is not a self-employed position.

Minimum requirements:

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available if needed)
* Two professional references
* Right to work in the UK

Highly relevant experience from teaching roles such as SENCo, SLD/MLD Teacher, Autism/ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, Ex-Teacher, or from therapeutic and learning support roles like LSA, Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, or Inclusion Coordinator is also valued.
