Audio Visual Technician – Kingston Upon Thames, KT2 7PD – Permanent – Full Time
Position details: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Up to £21.63 per hour DOE + Sodexo Benefits. Located in a boutique hotel and leadership retreat on a private estate just outside Kingston Upon Thames. Meals provided on shift. Full training and uniform provided. Free parking on site. Free use of on site gym. 28 days holiday rising to 33 days with service (including bank holidays).
What You'll Do
* Responsible for the overall set-up and testing of all AV and VC equipment to all internal meeting rooms
* Scheduling and management of Teams calls using Crestron devices
* Liaising with clients to discuss technical requirements for large events
* Assisting the bookings team with scheduling meetings in booking system when required; ensuring high standards of data input
* Ensuring all equipment is clean and in safe working order
* Repairing faults where applicable; otherwise escalate faults and repairs to the service contract holder for timely remedial action
* Provide attendees with advice on the technology they use (e.g., laptops)
* Guide attendees on connecting to Wi-Fi
* Ensure equipment is set up neatly and to a high standard
* Assist with support for multimedia broadcasting
* Maintain on-going stock check of equipment stored on site
* Keep the AV/Production suite tidy and organised
* Support and monitor digital signage
* Work from a daily schedule of AV/VC requirements in meeting rooms to ensure technology is ready for meetings
* Collaborate with other operations departments to fulfil stakeholder and client requests professionally and promptly
* Assist with meeting room setup
What You'll Bring
* Proficiency in AV technologies provided by Crestron, Shure, Lenovo, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Live Streaming
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for events and meetings
* Previous experience in the audio-visual, events, or technical arts industries
* Knowledge of AV disciplines (audio, projection, video, IT, lighting)
* Experience in a similar role
* Knowledge and experience operating a variety of large and small-scale audio events
* Strong technical knowledge of AV equipment, video conferencing systems, and IT hardware/software
