An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Full time position 37.5 hours a week.
We require an experienced, enthusiastic RN Child or RSCN working at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust with a clear interest in research.
This would give you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of Clinical Research by joining our Paediatric and Neonatal Clinical Research Nursing team at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton (RACH)
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.
Main duties of the job
You will coordinate a variety of Clinical Paediatric and Neonatal Research studies, including national & local academic studies as well as multi centre commercially sponsored trials, adhering to the principles of Good Clinical Practice in research.
This role will involve recruitment & follow up of patients within trials and you will be responsible for following study protocols & ensuring the safety of these patients along with the collation & documentation of study data.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, education and support of children & families for our clinical trials is also required
We will work together as a team to embed research into the clinical areas in line with our research strategy.

Experience/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse Children(RNC) ( Sub Part 1) or RSCN
2. Acute Secondary Care Paediatric / Neonatal experience
3. Interest in Clinical Research
4. First degree or equivalent experience, with significant post registration experience in paediatrics and/ or neonatology
5. Mentorship Qualification e.g. Practice Supervisor Practice Assessor Preparation Programme, Mentorship Programme, ENB 998, Practice Teacher qualification or equivalent
Desirable criteria
6. Good Clinical Practice Certificate
7. Research methodology experience
8. Professional practice course according to experience, and within speciality or relevant experience
9. Demonstrates training of others
10. Experience of Clinical Trials management
11. Post registration clinical trials experience within NHS setting
