CEDS Nurse
Job Summary
This post holder will provide a specialist service within the Community Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) at Bedfordshire and Luton CAMHS. The role is community‑based and offers flexible, evidence‑based episodes of care, assessments and treatments to all eating disorder presentations and comorbidities.
Responsibilities
* Provide care to children and families affected by eating disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Deliver effective leadership, expertise, advice and support to the service, ensuring high‑quality care for children and families.
* Act as a role model and highly competent practitioner.
* Serve as a designated resource to children and families, and other professionals caring for them.
* Facilitate the development of the eating disorders service within the multidisciplinary team.
* Promote an innovative and progressive attitude to continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence‑based practice.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Qualfification in Nursing (mental health or paediatric).
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience working with presentation of an eating disorder.
Essential Experience
* Specialist assessment and treatment of children, young people and families presenting high levels of complexity and difficulty, including eating disorders.
* Provision of evidence‑based interventions for children and young people with eating disorders, disordered eating behaviour and associated comorbidities.
* Proven capacity to work in a multidisciplinary, multi‑agency, multi‑cultural context with varying theoretical perspectives.
* Experience providing line management and clinical supervision.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working with a wide range of CAMHS problems and previous experience in CAMHS.
Essential Skills
* Well‑developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS.
* Specialist clinical assessment and treatment skills, including emergency and crisis assessments.
* Ability to manage own time and caseload.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Knowledge
* High degree of self‑awareness and ability to reflect on personal and professional attitudes and accept feedback.
* Awareness of current national guidelines and policies in the field of CAMHS.
* Specific knowledge of pertinent issues for CAMHS, including assessment and interventions.
* In‑depth knowledge of CAMHS issues and interventions.
