Position: Buyer
Location: Head Office, Glasgow
Job Type: Full-time, permanent (39.5 hours)
Hours: Monday to Friday (08:30-17:00 Monday-Thursday, 08:30-16:30 Friday, office-based)
Salary: £30,000.00 per annum

Purpose of Role:
The Buyer is responsible for procurement activities of specific categories, working with internal departments to define product or service specifications, sourcing, and negotiating the best value for the company. This includes onboarding and managing supplier relationships, ensuring contractual services are delivered, and supporting internal departments with purchasing requirements. The role involves raising purchase orders, maintaining stock levels, and building strong supplier relationships to ensure product availability while meeting financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and ensure adherence to company procurement policy.
* Negotiate prices and terms for goods and services.
* Onboard, develop, and maintain supplier relationships.
* Source products or services to required specifications for best value.
* Create and manage purchase orders.
* Ensure timely delivery of products.
* Replenish stock to meet agreed levels at each location.
* Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability.
* Analyze market trends and identify new suppliers.
* Collaborate with other departments for smooth operations.
* Maintain accurate purchase records.
* Manage fleet-related tasks.
Key Performance Indicators:
* Compliance of suppliers with contract and procurement policy.
* Stock levels meeting company targets.
* Performance against other departmental and company KPIs.
