Business Director – Hard & Soft FM Services
Location: Manchester Foundation NHS Trust Hospital, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9WL
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday

Role Overview
Lead the strategic and operational management of contracted Hard and Soft FM services, overseeing governance frameworks, driving service excellence, and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver integrated, patient-focused FM solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement client retention and communication strategies.
* Full accountability for P&L management, ensuring financial targets are met within budget and providing regular risk and opportunity reports.
* Lead and oversee operational service delivery, focusing on high standards, Health and Safety, and patient experience.
* Develop the site's business plan, budgets, efficiency programmes, and third‑party income generation.
* Ensure compliance with contractual, PFI, and governance protocols, meeting all KPIs and delivering monthly performance reports.
* Motivate, develop, and manage the management team and frontline staff, fostering engagement and continuous improvement.
* Maintain visible leadership within the Trust and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including SPV and Senior Management.
* Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring a zero LTI safety record and effective emergency response.
What You Bring
* Proven experience managing client-facing healthcare FM services (Hard FM, Soft FM, PFI contracts) across multiple complex sites.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating, developing, and holding teams accountable.
* Demonstrable financial acumen and commercial awareness, with excellent numerical and PC skills.
* Effective communication and influencing abilities, building strong partnerships and influencing key decision makers.
* Resilience and proactive attitude, with a track record of achieving results in challenging situations and limited timeframes.
* Ability to identify new opportunities, drive continuous improvement, and deliver change within contracted services.
* Skilled in performance management, addressing issues effectively, and maximizing employee engagement.
