Consultant Paediatrician with interest in Neurodisability

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in neurodisability. This is for 10 programmed activities.
South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a motivated and passionate consultant paediatrician. The post is a substantive position. It will be based in the paediatric department of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will work as an integral member of the Neurodisability team and contribute to service developments.
The Directorate of Paediatrics offers services across Sunderland and South Tyneside, including neonatology, general paediatrics, community paediatrics, and paediatric emergency medicine.
Timetables offer a degree of flexibility; the type of clinic activity is negotiable based on service needs and the experience and skills of the successful postholder.

Main duties of the job
Applicants should have, or obtain within 6 months of interview, a CCT in Paediatrics or equivalent, and/or be included on the GMC's Specialist Register or be eligible for inclusion.
Enquiries or arrangements for a preliminary visit are welcome.
The postholder will join an existing team of Disability Consultants, Associate Specialists, and specialist nurses.
Responsibilities include contributing to the coordination and delivery of the strategic and operational aspects of the service across South Tyneside and Sunderland, reflecting national and local priorities and the strategic direction of the Trust and the Division of Family Care.
Final job plans will be discussed with the Clinical Director and are subject to annual review.

Qualifications

* Experience in academic research, with peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
* Further qualifications in teaching or educational supervision.
Experience
* Relevant ND grid training or recent ND work experience.
* Experience in developing multidisciplinary clinical groups.
