We are seeking a Senior Press Officer to join our London team on a 6-month contract.
1. Manage the day-to-day handling of incoming media inquiries across broadcast, digital, and print, including booking and planning radio and TV interviews.
2. Prepare draft press releases and organise reactive comments from Movember spokespeople for the media.
3. Work with the Head of PR to create engaging press content aimed at leading the news agenda and making a lasting impact on men’s health.
4. Support in managing Movember’s PR agencies across the UK and Europe.
5. Handle logging and analysis of media coverage and track KPIs set by the Head of PR.
6. Maintain and develop media lists.
7. Monitor online conversations, news, and comments about Movember, competitors, and the wider men’s health space.
8. Reach out to the Movember community for media and other opportunities.
9. Collaborate with internal teams to source engaging stories for the media.
10. Maintain spokesperson databases.
11. Conduct short interviews with local community members.
12. Create custom outreach and thank you packages for supporters.
13. Support ambassador relations outreach.
14. Coordinate and support events.
15. Manage the PR campaign calendar.
For this role, you’ll need:
1. 2+ years’ experience in a busy agency environment or client-side.
2. Strong understanding of the earned media landscape including print, digital, broadcast, and social media (particularly Instagram and TikTok).
3. Experience pitching to media via phone and in person.
4. Good contacts in UK national and regional press, as well as men’s lifestyle titles.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
6. Confidence conducting interviews with case studies on the phone or in person.
7. Creative thinking for creating integrated PR campaigns.
8. Excellent visual, oral, and written communication skills.
9. Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
10. Ability to manage large databases and perform analytical recaps.
Desirable:
1. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Experience in public affairs or interest in UK politics.
3. Understanding of the EU media landscape.
