Job Title: Tenancy Sustainment Officer (Permanent)
Hours: 37 hours per week (flexibly scheduled)
Salary: £33,818.10 per annum (plus regular mileage allowance)
Location: Gadbrook Park, Northwich; core locations: Warrington and Cheshire.
Flexibility: Work from our office at Gadbrook Park or from home as required.
The Opportunity
Weaver Vale Housing Trust is looking for a motivated, reliable and conscientious Tenancy Sustainment Officer. This role provides support and advice to customers who are struggling to maintain their tenancy, reduces the risk of formal action, and ensures tenancy sustainment.
What Will You Do?
* Provide outcome‑focused support to promote successful tenancy sustainment.
* Offer support and advice to customers who are struggling to sustain their tenancy, reducing the risk of formal action.
* Assess individual customer needs and develop realistic, achievable action plans in collaboration with customers, addressing issues such as poor mental or physical health, addiction, social isolation or unacceptable property conditions.
* Use a person‑centred approach, adapting responses to neighbourhood and customer needs to support wellness, thriving tenancies and communities and increase customer satisfaction.
* Follow the Trust’s policies on Equality & Diversity, Health and Safety, Data Protection, Safeguarding and Customer Services.
Minimum Requirements
* A covering letter (maximum 2 pages) demonstrating how you meet the essential and desirable criteria.
* Three GCSEs Grade 4–9 / A*–C or equivalent level of qualification or experience (including English).
* Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a car.
* Effective communication skills with a wide range of individuals, including those with diverse communication needs.
* Ability to work independently and as a flexible team member.
* Ability to organise, adapt to varying workloads and balance competing priorities.
* Ability to manage confidential material and issues.
* Experience of managing challenging situations, demonstrating empathy, sensitivity and diplomacy.
* Experience of using professional curiosity to understand a customer’s needs.
* Ability to sensitively challenge concerning or risky behaviours that may put the customer or the tenancy at risk.
Due to the nature of the role, a full current driving licence and access to a car is essential. The successful candidate will undergo an Enhanced DBS check and must confirm any convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 in their application.
