You will ideally bring a scientific background alongside strong communication and project coordination skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear, client-friendly language.
You will also have knowledge of cGMP regulations and pharmacopoeia to ensure that operations are carried out in line with required standards where applicable.
Required skills and experience:
1. Educated to a Higher Education level in a relevant discipline (. Chemistry or related), with laboratory exposure
2. Proven experience working within a laboratory or scientific environment
3. Understanding of project management principles and ability to coordinate multiple workstreams
4. Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
5. Awareness of cGMP regulations and pharmacopoeia requirements
6. Experience within analytical chemistry environments (. HPLC / LCMS) would be highly advantageous
7. Experience managing or supporting inhaled or biologics projects is desirable
8. Excellent organisational, time management and IT skills (Microsoft Office)
9. Strong attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
10. Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and build lasting client relationships
11. Positive, adaptable approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
To perform the role and responsibilities of a Project Manager within the laboratory environment, acting as the primary liaison for clients throughout the full project lifecycle.
You will take ownership of project delivery end-to-end, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to quality, and to client expectations. This includes defining project scope, supporting quotation development, and working closely with internal teams to meet delivery commitments.
You will play a key role in bridging laboratory teams and clients, translating complex scientific activity into clear, structured updates while supporting commercial objectives.
Key activities:
12. Act as the primary point of contact for all assigned client projects, managing project organisation and administration end-to-end
13. Monitor project progress against agreed KPIs and milestones (internal and external), proactively managing risks and resolving issues
14. Define and agree project deliverables with clients, ensuring clarity from initiation through to completion
15. Support project setup, including preparation of documentation, protocol writing/review, and assessment of equipment and consumables
16. Develop a strong understanding of each client project, including the purpose of the drug and how analysis fits within the wider development programme
17. Provide clear, consistent communication and progress updates to stakeholders, translating technical information into client-friendly language
18. Organise and lead project meetings, including preparation of slides, minutes, action logs, risk logs and issue tracking
19. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical or contractual queries throughout the project lifecycle
20. Monitor in-process activities and keep senior management informed, including key metrics such as:Testing and report turnaround timesOn-time delivery
