Overview
Are you a forward-thinking Consultant Psychiatrist within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry looking to join a newly established clinical leadership group within BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW)? As an innovative and collaborative leader, you will be passionate about enhancing and transforming the BSW CAMHS liaison service with the aim of reducing avoidable admissions and facilitating the least restrictive interventions for young people.
This service will offer a more comprehensive liaison offer, considering medically unexplained symptoms, functional pain, and related symptoms, safeguarding contexts, liaising with networks around young people, and advocating for them to receive the right interventions and services.

* Develop close links with BSW Crisis and Home Treatment Service (CaHTs) and Marlborough House Adolescent Inpatient Unit in Swindon to reduce avoidable admissions and facilitate least restrictive interventions.
* Provide medical responsibility for management and treatment of children, adolescents, and families on their caseload while offering leadership and advice to MDT members (not medically responsible for all patients seen by the team).
* Respond to emergencies and provide consultation to other teams to support formulation and care planning for CAMHS Liaison cases.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Level 3 specialist safeguarding training, including awareness and understanding of child maltreatment, appropriate referral mechanisms, and information sharing.
* Medical qualification with eligibility for consultant-level practice in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
