Broad Function:
The Warehouse Manager is accountable for maintaining GMP and Environmental, Health and Safety policies with compliance, managing the warehouse/distribution teams, and projects ensuring that resources are appropriately deployed and used effectively.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
* Ensure that all Health and Safety policies are followed and report any concerns to the Health and Safety Dept.
* Monitoring warehouse staff Holidays, Sickness and Absences.
* Updating staff Holidays and overtime onto the ADP portal.
* Interviewing potential candidates for employment in the Warehouse
* Undertake regular performance appraisals, 1-'s with your Team leader and Probationary
* reviews.
* Actively participate in daily/weekly operations meetings and constructively raise opportunities for improvements.
* Responsible for all warehouse operatives across Newmarket Warehouse operations. Goods in, ETO, Feeding in, Mezz / Assembly, Raw materials, Boxing and Distribution.
* To manage and allocate resources to deliver the site objectives to the required quality, regulatory, safety and environmental standards.
* To be part of the wider Operations Team to deliver the site strategic and tactical plan.
* Develop and maintain strong reporting functions (KPls) to track and improve performance in the warehouse.
* Ensure that all employees are adequately trained, and training records are kept up to date.
* Responsible for writing and updating relevant warehouse documentation as required.
* Ensure that the vans are loaded correctly and to ensure that picks are checked.
* Responsible for stock accuracy, conducting regular stock counts.
* Project lead all projects in warehouse operations to deliver excellence.

Education and Experience:
* Proven extensive experience of effectively leading a team in a supervisory/managerial position within an operations business.
* Solid understanding of EHS legislation and ideally a recognised formal qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH, First aid at work)
* Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing and application of suitable techniques.
* Ability to project lead CI projects within warehouse environments.
