Whickham School is a high-performing and oversubscribed 11-18 school in Gateshead. Staff and students enjoy working and learning at our school, fostering a culture that facilitates high levels of attainment and progress. Student progress is significantly above regional and national averages. The school has built an excellent reputation for the quality of provision provided to students and has made significant progress in becoming a place where students fulfill their potential. We are looking to recruit a colleague who demonstrates ambition, drive, and commitment to play a significant role in continuing this journey.
The school is seeking to recruit a Pastoral Leader to lead one of our year groups. The role of a Pastoral Leader is an important position within Whickham School, offering the opportunity to:

3. Be responsible for the behaviour, attendance, and pastoral care of students in a year group.
4. Work with a Family Liaison Officer and a Year Group Achievement Leader.
5. Be a member of a Pastoral Leader Group to ensure the quality of pastoral care is consistently strong.
6. Coach and mentor colleagues to ensure they are excellent practitioners.
This role is ideal for colleagues passionate about making a difference for young people, especially through leading a cohort of students. It provides an excellent opportunity to develop and enhance skills for future senior leadership roles.
To attract and retain high-caliber staff, the school offers several benefits, including:
