The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a successful and established event portfolio.
The role will focus on generating new business revenue, developing existing client relationships, and driving commercial growth across a portfolio of market-leading B2B events.
Key responsibilities include:
* Identifying and securing new business opportunities through proactive sales activity
* Re-engaging previous clients and converting them into active customers
* Building and managing a pipeline of prospective exhibitors and sponsors
* Developing and nurturing long-term client relationships
* Managing existing accounts and maximising revenue opportunities
* Working towards and exceeding individual sales targets and KPIs
* Producing accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports
* Collaborating with marketing, operations, and content teams to support event growth
* Attending industry events and client meetings where required
About You
We are looking for a motivated, energetic sales professional who thrives in a target-driven environment and enjoys building lasting client relationships.
Ideally, you will have experience within B2B sales, events, media, sponsorship, exhibitions, or a related commercial environment.
Skills & Experience
* Proven track record in B2B sales and business development
* Strong commercial awareness and consultative selling skills
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
* Experience managing accounts and developing long-term client partnerships
* Ability to negotiate effectively and overcome objections
* Highly organised with strong pipeline management skills
* Comfortable working towards ambitious revenue targets
* Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
* Ability to build rapport with senior stakeholders both over the phone and face-to-face
* Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, solutions-focused mindset
