Job Description:
We know that a business only thrives if our people are thriving. That’s why we always put our people first. Our global and diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in many ways. Who knows where our joint journey will take you?
We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning & Warranty Technician to join us in our brand-new rail manufacturing facility in Goole. Reporting to the Commissioning & Warranty Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of each assigned project during the project phases of commissioning and warranty, focusing on cost, time, and quality for all types of rolling stock vehicle equipment on completed vehicles, e.g., Highspeed, Commuter Rail, Metro, Light Rail, and Passenger Coaches.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, a team player, and eager to develop their skills through individual training plans to meet future project demands such as the Deep Tube Upgrade Programme (DTUP). The role may require travel and periods away from home for training at locations like Wildenrath, Germany, or other UK sites depending on project needs.
You’ll make a difference by:
* Coordinating operational commissioning and warranty processes in accordance with customer-specific regulations and project requirements.
* Collaborating with the UK and Global Siemens Mobility Commissioning teams to resolve issues at test tracks or depots, ensuring smooth fleet transitions into UK passenger service.
* Documenting and clarifying project-related issues and risks, including escalation and project management impacts on schedule, costs, and quality.
* Performing maintenance activities alongside commissioning, following test procedures, and recording results using digital tools.
* Identifying and rectifying faults during commissioning tests, escalating issues to suppliers or engineering teams, and providing detailed reports to customers.
Your success will be grounded by:
* Proven experience in the rail sector, adhering to company policies and industry standards with high-quality work.
* A commitment to self-development and continual skills enhancement aligned with new projects.
* Experience in fleet maintenance or commissioning/testing within the UK rail industry, with a willingness to learn new skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
It would be desirable to have:
* Knowledge of IT networks (Profinet, TCP/IP) and diagnostic systems, including maintenance management systems.
* German language skills.
You’ll benefit from:
Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, bonus, holiday allowance, and pension. We offer flexible benefits to suit individual needs.
